How To Navigate a Bridal Expo

We are about to enter peak wedding season and that means that there will be TONS of bridal expos to attend to get great ideas for your own wedding! To help you know how to navigate a bridal expo, we have come up with a list of things to do to make sure you get the absolute most out of the day!

Before the show…

Set Up a New Email Address – Every vendor will be asking you to provide an email address so they can send you information about their products or services. Trust us when we say that you will be bombarded with emails. To help keep them organized, you should create an email address that is specifically for your wedding. That way after you are married, you won’t continue to receive emails from vendors to your personal account.

Create Labels – You should have multiple sheets of labels that include your name, mailing address and wedding email address. Vendors will be giving away free items and will ask you for this information for you to be eligible to win. Instead of having to fill it out by hand at every booth, you can simply slap your label on there and move on!

Research Vendors – You will receive a list of vendors before you go. Be sure to do your research and see which vendors you are most interested in visiting. This is a great way to plan which vendors to hit first.

During the show…

Know Your Wedding Plan/Ideas – If you know your color scheme and/or have a certain vision in mind, be sure to have samples of that to show vendors. Bring color swatches, have printed photos of what you envision your flower arrangements to look like. This will be a huge help when you are talking to vendors. It’s much easier to understand a vision when you see a photo than it is to try and describe what you want.

Don’t Go Alone – Bring your fiancé, mother, soon-to-be mother-in-law, maid of honor, sister, whoever – just don’t go alone! It is so much more fun to be able to go with friends and family. Also, this will allow you to divide and concur if you are running short on time!

Dress Properly – You will be on your feet all day. Be sure to dress nice, but be comfortable too. Also, there will be tons of free samples given away so be sure to bring a bag that you can put everything in and comfortably carry.

RELAX! – We know that bridal expos can be somewhat overwhelming, but just remember that you are there simply to get ideas, get vendor contact info and have a good time! Don’t let it stress you out.
